You travel from Sundsvall on the Swedish east coast through deep forests and dramatic nature to beautiful Östersund. Then further to Saint Olav’s shrine and the Cathedral of Nidaros, in the Norwegian Pearl Trondheim on the Atlantic coast.
In Östersund you can visit one of Saint Olav´s brother-in-arms, the homestead of Arnljot and much more! You re-enter the train to Nidaros (Trondheim) and the Saint Olav’s festival . We invite you to Tautra Monastery and the Saint Olav Drama in Stiklestad where you can feel the early medieval atmosphere around Saint Olav´s dramatic transformation from a king among kings in a fragmented Norway through canonization and to be declared the Eternal King of Norway.
